Upon graduation from Western Illinois University, Shelley joined Marine Office of America in Chicago as its first woman field representative in the US. After six years with MOAC, she joined Wilkins-Lowe, becoming a partner in 1991. She functions as Commercial Lines Producer as well as Agency Manager. Long active in civic affairs, she currently sits on the Board of the United Way of Whiteside County and Sterling Today, Inc. Other involvements include United Way of Whiteside County, YWCA, CGH Health Foundation, American Association of University Women, the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois.
